If you encnounter a crash, please report it to us with crash log.

Logs are placed near the saved games:
- \Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\SpaceRangersHD (Windows XP)
- \Users\<username>\Documents\SpaceRangersHD (Windows Vista and newer)

File with last launch log named ########.log. It should be attached to a post (as a plain text, or as a link to file hosting), BEFORE restarting the game after an error occurs. Separate error files, if they were created, are placed in Errors folder at the same dir.

To attach file to your post press "Preview", additional options will appear. You must put your file in archive to attach it. If all button names are in russian, you can switch language by selecting "Профиль" (located at the very top of any page) then "Настройки форума" and switching "Язык" from "Русский" to "British English". Alternatively you can just post content of your log file as plain text, but put in under "Hide" tag then.

If you encounter a repeating bug, please also attach a save file (as a normal attachment or a link to file hosting), and give instructions, how to reproduce it, using this save.

hi
after taking a mission when i complete it and i go for the reward my computer freeze! and game crashes and i have to end task the game!

even in a 3d robotic mission after wining and clicking on "Ok" button game crashed!

You said a game freezes after a mission (not a planetary battle), can you provide a log for that case too? And have you tried waiting couple minutes after freeze?

it freeze in both planetary battle and missions!
and yes i waited for about 30 min!!!
please help me fix this! you can not believe how much i love this game!
i finished it 4 times! and i was number one in whole galaxy!
i even won in a impossible! (which took me a very very long time! to finish it!!! (i had to steal dominator weapons by luck to win :D)

Hm, try playing with Steam in offline mode. Also, does this happen everytime or this freeze appears randomly? And do you experience any lags while playing?

this always happen! so it is not random! (from the very first mission)
and yes ! sometimes i feel lags while loading or switching between game modes(2d , 3d)
but other times its good and i dont have any lag!

Ok, then try switching Steam to offline. If that doesn't help, please attach screenshot after game freezes, preferrably after normal mission, not a planetary battle (i'm trying to figure out on which step trouble arise, and since a game not actually crashes but hangs, logs do not contain info i need for that).

well 3 things happend :
1- i cant get a screenshot from the game!(its black screen)
2- now i notice that after every space (i mean turn change) i get 2 sec screen freeze (or lag)
3- i have save just before clicking on headquarter and hanging! (i mean im in the planet and all you need to do is click on headquarter to meet the general and get reward and of course hang!)

Then just tell me what you see on s screen when game freezes. Also, do you hear fanfare sound after you click on government button? And does your free space indicator change it's numbers after that?

You probably have autosave option set on "every turn".

Well, this bug is "local" and that is a main problem. On my PC your save works without any problem so i can only get info about it from you.

in planetary battles you should know that after you win there is window that wants you to click ok
so after that it goes back to 2d again!
when i click on that a pitch black screen appear! and thats all! well if i press alt + tab and again switch in to the game! i can now see that its frozen on the last screen that appeared (the window with ok button)
and in regular missions just like the one i posted and attached the file i can see that the game frozen (no black screen) and every thing stops (like pause in games!) so in this case everything stops inside the planet (planet pang)

background music is still being played but everything else doesn't work (its like a static image)

OMGGGGG!
i solved it!
you can not believe what was the problem!
all i needed to do was turning "MultiThreaded rendering" on!

i don't think we could have find this without a debugger! but well i tried everything! (i even tried window mode on and off , run as administrator, xp 3 compatible run and ..........)

well my work payed off , problem is solved

once again a new problem!
1- when i try loading my save after 50% game crashes and give me an access violation error
i unistalled the whole game but i received this error again! so i started a new game from scratch!
everything was fine until a few year (in game) again the same problem appeared!
when this error happens if i load a very old save i can get through without error but then again after a while the same issue happens!

(log seems to contain some info on the error and i attached one of my saves and log file there)

2- there is one more problem i have encountered! but its about game play ! after about 2 year (in game) all galaxys are filled with asteroids and i mean fillllllled (about 1000 asteroids) and cause of that i cant even move there ! and all stations get destroy in 1 day! plus the sun is realllly hot!(i mean 150 damage per day!)
i want to know is this a bug? or its cause i'm playing on hard !(i customized the setting and i'm playing on 153% right now!)

(cause my saves have sizes like 20-30-40 mb! i cant attach here (max is 5 mb) i found a 10 mb save so i upload it on http://uploadboy.com/ please download from there)

That's anti-piracy protection working. If you never used pirate version and still get this trouble, try adding rangers.exe to your antivirus exception list then start a new game (do not load old saves, they will still get corrupted eventually).

Hmm it's a little hard to explain so I describe the situation.

I have enough points to take the skipper mission, but there is no military station (so pirate says they are occupied with dominator treat) , then I changed side to ranger (it seems to get science stations I need to liberate systems as a ranger). however when a military base appeared and I visited a pirate base I get the mission to destroy the military station (although I was a ranger).

Basically now I can increase my rank in coalition and pirate simultaneously.

I just bought SR2HD from Steam. The game opens in fullscreen, skips any trailers (not sure if there are supposed to be any), but then in the main menu, any buttons except to start a new game cause a crash to desktop. starting a new game works fine until I press view ship or menu button in the bottom left corner, this also triggers a crash.
I have a cfg file in Documents and one in the game folder in SteamApps/common, but changing Window, debug or videomode do not appear to have any effect on how the game launches.

Also my OS is actually Windows 7 64-bit, I was trying to run it in compatibility mode so thats why it says XP in the log.

It could be that some some game resources are damaged. Try checking steam cache integrity at local files tab.

Cfg.txt in Documents is used by a game, another one is default. And game can run in windowed mode only if current desktop resolution is higher then current game resolution.

Thanks for your reply. I fixed the problem by changing the video resolution to a size smaller in the same aspect ratio (my desktop resolution is 1440x900 so I set the game to 1280x800) and setting Window=True.

Is it me, or Nanitoids artifact doesn't work in the newest version of the game?

It's in the artifact slot, when I click on it, it's showing with a green colour - which items are being repaired by it (I know that it's not suppose to work on the planet/base, but it should work while the ship is moving through the space, right?). However - the days pass by and the items which it's suppose to repair - are still in exactly the same condition

Yep. Cause if there was no nanitoids it would already be broken.
And green colour show the bonus for equipment from black holes, not items that are repaired by nanitoids(cause it repair all weapons and equipment that you have installed in your ship)

Nanitoids won't repair after getting the item to 60% durability. The only exceptions are unique dominatior weapons (vertix, imho-9000 and torpedo launcher or how it's named) as they are repairable only on scientific and pirate stations and equipment gained from black holes (they will be fully repaired to 100%).

Looks like problem with game resources, try checking steam cache. If problem persists, please post a save file here (you can attach files after clicking preview, but it must be packed in rar or zip archive).

Tried this save on my PC, worked normally. After cache check steam didn't download anything? Also, you can try disabling antivirus program if you have any.

No, it just said 'All files succesfully vaildated'.
I also tried deleting appcache folder, but it did nothing.
Disabling antivirus didn't help either.

Reinstalling didn't work either.
